NICK COOPER
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Nick has spent more than two decades working his way through every level of the industry — Operations Manager, Branch Manager, General Manager, Operations Director and now Managing Director of Adept. That journey gives him a deep understanding of the operational realities faced by frontline teams and the standards clients expect.
Since taking the helm at Adept, Nick has led the business through significant growth, major contract wins, and a complete cultural and operational rebuild. His people-first approach has shaped Adept into one of the UK’s most progressive FM providers, recognised through multiple awards including Employer of the Year and Best for Employee Engagement. Adept is also the only provider in the sector accredited for both Real Living Wage and Real Living Hours, and a proud member of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter.
Nick sits on the Living Wage Foundation’s Leadership Board, where he plays an active role in shaping national conversations around fair pay and good employment. His leadership style is straightforward, values-driven, and focused on building a long-term, sustainable strategy that keeps people at the centre of every decision.

JAMES KEELAN
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
James is a highly experienced technical services leader with over 25 years in Hard FM, engineering management, and compliance. He has managed nationwide portfolios, multi-million-pound maintenance contracts, and large engineering teams, with a strong track record in delivering high-quality HVAC, electrical, and gas services across complex commercial estates.
Known for his honest, steady leadership style and deep technical knowledge, James has worked on landmark buildings, major corporate environments, and government sites. He is driven by raising standards, supporting engineers, and building strong client relationships through practical, real-world solutions.
Outside of work, James volunteers as an England Boxing Level 2 Coach, supporting young athletes and prioritising their development and wellbeing.
At Adept, James leads the growth and delivery of Adept Technical Services, ensuring our technical offering remains robust, compliant, and built around the needs of our clients and people.

KATIE HOWARD
CONTRACT MANAGER
Katie brings 10 years of experience in technical services and FM operations. She began her career at HFL, supporting a Regional Contract Manager and a large engineering team, handling client liaison, subcontractor management, planning, invoicing, WIP control and all administrative support. She later moved into sole planning for a pool of around 70 engineers, coordinating workloads and ensuring service delivery stayed on track.
Katie joined Agilis in 2020 and progressed quickly from Technical Services Administrator to Contract Coordinator and ultimately Contract Manager. She now leads the management of key contracts across the Form and Allied portfolios, acting as the main client contact and overseeing helpdesk workflow, planning, subcontractor performance, health and safety, and engineer training. She also supports the commercial process, including pricing, tenders, and contract renewals.
Known for her calm, solutions-focused approach, Katie is the person who steps in to resolve the unexpected and keep things moving. Her blend of operational knowledge, commercial awareness and people-first mindset makes her a trusted and valued part of Adept Technical Services.

ALAN BRIERLEY
STRATEGIC DIRECTOR
Alan has an unrivalled track record of success within the contracted services industry. Passionate about continuous service improvement, Alan’s career in the security industry commenced in 1995 where he joined G4S on a casual contract. He subsequently progressed through that organisation managing the Manchester City Council security contract, before taking overall responsibility for the North West region.
As Strategic Director Alan delivers strategic advice, supports clients, and heads up the security and cleaning divisions including the Adept head office functions.

ALEX MCMAHON
REGIONAL DIRECTOR
Alex recently joined Adept as Regional Director, providing operational support to the Yorkshire region and continued growth and development of the business. Alex’s primary focus is developing partnerships, which will promote growth and efficiency across the Yorkshire region.

EMILY WEBB
HR EXECUTIVE
Emily Webb is HR Executive and is responsible for overseeing the People function. Emily works closely with the Adept leadership team to ensure that our commitment and strategy to our people is achieved through offering compelling benefits packages and driving positive employee experiences.
Emily has previously worked for Universal Music Group across the Asia Pacific region and assisted on organisational change projects. Emily also brings over 5 years of operational retail management experience, having worked in Australia and Switzerland.

The Adept team are highly qualified and experienced, tailoring needs to individuals. Each project has its own bespoke team, allowing for an in depth knowledge of the strategy towards the project. Adept is managed by the Operations Manager who overseas all projects with the Security Manager. Individual project Security Supervisors will control the day to day running of their project, with specific Security Supervisors ensuring delivery. Extensive training is given to ensure high standards are achieved and continued investment in our people is maintained.
