Last week had a bit of everything — from site visits and client meetings to contract wins and (hopefully) not completely botched video interviews.
We had a really positive meeting with a potential new client, going through the finer detail of a bid we submitted. It’s one of a few sizeable opportunities currently in limbo while we wait for decisions. If you’ve ever worked in business development, you’ll know the drill — lots of refreshing inboxes and quietly willing good news into existence.
On a more certain note, we’ve just secured a new cleaning contract with a national housing developer, starting on 4th June. These are staged cleans across newly built homes — from the initial builders clean, through to deep cleans and sparkle cleans right before handover. It’s fast-paced, detail-focused work, and we’re excited to get going.
I also managed to squeeze in some proper site visits — Stamford Quarter, Stretford Mall, and Walker Morris. Always good to get out and see things firsthand (especially when most of my city centre visits are so frequent I should probably just move in).
On Tuesday, Saz Media came to the office to record a short video for my Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter – Leader of the Year nomination. I wasn’t feeling great, so Alan and Alex kindly stepped in for me. Appreciate the help lads… although I’ve no idea what they said and I’m now slightly concerned they’ve completely blown my chances!
And finally — I found out I’ve also been shortlisted as a national finalist at the British Security Awards 2025 for Excellence in Leadership. It’s a proud moment, and a nice reminder that the way we’re doing things at Adept is being noticed well beyond our own patch.
More soon.
